Advertising CSP 3: Represent NHS Blood campaign

  1) Why do advertisers use stereotypes? [6 marks] Advertisers use stereotypes to provide familiarity to a viewer.  2) Explain how advertisements reflect the social and cultural contexts in which they were created. [12 marks] Social and cultural contexts: media products and the representations in them can be seen as a product of the social and cultural context in which they are created,  issues such as advertising standards may impact on the creation of products and the way in which representations of gender are created and received.

Represent NHS Blood & Transplant campaign

  1) What is an advertising campaign? An advertising campaign is a series of advertisements that share a singular theme, message or idea.  2) What is the objective of the NHS Represent campaign?  To get more donations from Black + Asian community. 3) What does this advert want people to do once they've seen it (the 'call to action')? They want the people to react to it and start donating and to them.  4) Why is the advert called 'Represent'?  It is called Represent because they are representing Black and Asian heritage.
